How to upload data

You are here:

Welcome to the world of personal health data! One of the most important tools you have just accessed is the measuring device. It’s built to listen to your heart, around the clock! When you use the device you get health data that shows how and when your stress system has been activated. By reflecting on your data you will, after a while, learn to better identify, understand and manage stress. For example, a graph for a day might look like this:

To get started and create your personal graphs, you need to do two things.

  1. First, you need to collect your heartbeats
  2. Second, you need to upload your heartbeats from the device to the app.

Let’s take this step by step!

1. Collect heartbeats

To collect heartbeats, you need your measuring device. You wear the device in a strap around your chest. The strap should sit at the height of the solar plexus with the device on the outside, seen from the body. The led indicator on the device should be facing upwards. Each time the device is used, it is important to ensure that the indicator flashes green. It is only when it flashes green that the device collects data. If the device does not flash green, we will help you troubleshoot what went wrong. Go into the app, select Settings and then Troubleshoot with Linus. Choose the Device as the area you want help with and follow Linus’ instructions!

2. Upload data

Once the measuring device has collected heartbeats, it’s time to transfer the information from the device to the app. The device has a built-in memory that lasts up to 7 days, but you can transfer heartbeats already after a few minutes of use. To transfer heartbeats, open the app on your phone and go to the Home tab.

If there are new heartbeats to transmit, you will see a message at the top of the screen after a few seconds. Press the blue button that says Download. While transferring information from the device, you need to keep the app open. If you close the app, the upload will pause. You always see a progress indicator that shows how much data is left to transmit.

When your data is transferred from the device to the app, it is sent simultaneously to our servers for analysis. All communication with our servers is done using secure and encrypted methods. Once the heartbeats are uploaded, our algorithms translate your heartbeat into health data. When the translation is complete, you can see your health data under the tabs Days and Trends.

You don’t have to worry if your graphs don’t show up right away. Depending on how many heartbeats you upload, it may take up to 10 minutes for the algorithms to translate them into health data.
